Every generation has a player who transcends the game. Only a few become legends passed down like folklore. Here are three of the greatest — and the eternal debate: who is the greatest?

On this grass, the kings wrote their history.

Pelé — the king who can't be repeated

Pelé is the only player to win three World Cups (1958, 1962, 1970), and the youngest champion ever at 17. His 1,279 goals in 1,363 games is a Guinness record, and he was named IOC Athlete of the Century in 1999.

Maradona — the rebel genius

At 1986, Maradona played every minute, scored 5 and assisted 5. Against England he produced both the "Hand of God" and the "Goal of the Century." FIFA could not choose one Player of the Century in 2000 — they split it between him and Pelé.

One ball, countless legends.

Messi — the legend completed

For two decades Lionel Messi carried the same debate — until 2022, when he led Argentina to the title and silenced every doubt, completing his legend.

So who is the greatest?

Maybe the question itself is wrong — how do you compare eras with different rules, preparation, even different balls? Better to enjoy each legacy. At Malaab Al-An we celebrate the legends, because football is memory before it is a result.
